Fife, famous to many motorcyclists for Knockhill Racing Circuit, and famous to the rest of the general public for St Andrews and Golf.
Yet, for the touring enthusiast it is also home to an abundant Scottish History which is available for open viewing from your favourite machine, whether car or on two wheels! With several castles dating from the 12th Century, many of which are open to the public and maintained by the National Trust, this is an ideal opportunity to get in some great touring with the excuse of a history lesson or two thrown in. Some of the castles listed elsewhere are home to museums and historical information whilst others are ruins, in which you may walk the grounds should you be in need of a break.
Knockhill is home to the British Superbikes and also many trackday organisers run day or two day track events here. Very exciting.
Places to visit on a coastal theme include the charming and characterful fishing villages at Crail, Elie, and Anstruther, and of course you should not miss out on the opportunity to be swept back into the 17th Century with a visit to Culross.
